Piano Improv #2

So I was talking to someone about how I play piano, and we got on the subject on what intervals are okay to play in the lower register, without getting too muddy. I think anything above the perfect 5th is good to go, and I was again inspired, so I recorded this. The beginning is based off of a minor 7th, in the lower register.
Still pretty mellow, but it's a little more focused and directed than the last one.

New Series: "Random Improv"

Hello friends,

I recently came up with an idea to help me get my ideas down. I often sit down at my piano and fool around for a while, and usually come up with something pretty awesome. But, of course, I forget it once I stop playing. SO! From now on, I'm recording all of my piano noodling sessions, and I'll be uploading them to my soundcloud.

Check it out, you might enjoy it!

Second PodCast!? "Melting Chords"

A Completely Random PodCast by Ryan Leber
Composition Series : Episode 02 - Melting Chords

Hello friends,

So, here's a second episode of my completely random podcast. Once again, it's directed towards composers and songwriters, and involves a technique I use every now and then when I want to write something that's a little more outside the box. I call it "melting chords," and when I use it, I usually end up with a nice chord progression that really steps out of the norm. So check it out!

Enjoy!

First PodCast! Melody!

Hello everyone,

So, I made my first podcast. It's about melodies and theme, and why certain melodies and themes are so damn catchy and impossible to forget. Well, it's my opinion on the subject, anyway, and if that's not what a blog is all about, then I don't know what is.

I really need to invest in a decent microphone...

Enjoy!

I made a blog?

Hi. So, I made a blog. Not really sure what I'm gonna use it for, yet, but it'll most likely be either random personal stuff, or maybe some neat music I found, or maybe some neat music I wrote. Who knows, the possibilities are simply endless!

Alright, then!

Have a nice day.
